The National Institute of Social Security (INSS) determined the opening of internal investigation against 12 Entities suspected of diverting resources from retirees and pensioners.
Ordinances authorizing the investigation were signed by the INSS substitute general corrector-general José Alberto de Medeiros Landimand published in the Monday (5) edition of the Federal Official Gazette (DOU).
The deadline for completion of the administrative liability process (pair) is 180 dias.
According to the Federal Police (PF) and the Comptroller General of the Union (CGU), unions and associative entities would have improperly charged retirees and pensioners about 2019 and 2024.
The scandal led to the falls of the president of the INSS, and the Minister of Social Security ,.
ENTITIES IN THE INSS
Among the target entities of INSS internal investigation are:
- Association in Brazil of Retirees and Pensioners of Social Security (APBRASIL);
- Brazilian Association of Retirees and Pensioners and the Elderly (Asbrapi);
- Brazilian Confederation of Fisheries and Aquaculture Workers (CBPA);
- Assistance Association and Charity for Retirees Servers and Pensioners of Brazil (ASABSP);
- Center for Study of Retirement and Pensioners Benefits (CEBAP);
- Retired and Pensioners Assistance Box (CAAP);
- Association of Retirees and Pensioners of the General Social Security Regimes (AAPS);
- Association of Retirees and Pensioners of Brazil (AAPB);
- AAPN Benefits – AAPEN (ABSP);
- National Union of Assistance to Public Servants (UNASPUB);
- Mutualist Retirement Association for Collective Benefits (Ambec);
- Association for Protection and Defense of Retirees and Pensioners Rights – APDAP PREV (Welcoming).
Reimbursement to victims
the new INSS president, Gilberto Waller Júnior, said that the source of resources is still under study to reimburse the beneficiaries impaired by the fraud scheme at the institution.
“This is being studied, where it comes. What we could do to accelerate the damage repair process is being done,” said Waller.
The president of the municipality has assured, however, that the compensation will be done “quickly” and “without bureaucracy”.
the federal government announced the creation of a specific channel for retirees and pensioners who have suffered improper discounts can request compensation directly.
The measure is part of a compensation plan developed by the INSS, with the support of the Attorney General of the Union (AGU) and Dataprev.
