18 -year -old Brazilian tennis player faces Hungarian Fabian Marozsan in the clay courts of the Italian tournament

The ESPN channel and the Disney+ streaming service will broadcast the João Fonseca Games at Rome Masters 1000. The 18 -year -old Brazilian tennis player debuts on Wednesday (7.mai.2025) in the clay courts of the Italian tournament.

Current number 65 in the world, Fonseca will face Hungarian Fabian Marozsan, 25 years old and 61st in the ranking. They never faced each other in the professional circuit. The match is scheduled to start at 6am (Brasília time).

The tournament, which distributes 1000 points in the ranking of ATP (Association of Professional Tenists), runs until May 18 and will feature the main names of international tennis such as Jannik Sinner, Alexander Zverev and Carlos Alcaraz.

Held annually since 1930, the Italian competition is considered one of the most important events of the clay season and serves as preparation for Roland Garros, Grand Slam that happens in late May.

Rafael Nadal is the greatest champion of the Masters 1000 in Rome, with 10 titles. Brazil has its place in the history of the competition thanks to Gustavo Kuerten, champion in 1999.

Fonseca will compete for the Masters 1000 of Rome for the first time in his career. The carioca tennis player seeks to overcome his best performance in tournaments of this category, which was the 3rd round at Miami Open 2025.
