Grêmio and inter raise R $ 76 mi to gauchos after flooding

Project was supported by 10 companies and benefited 8 recovery actions in 478 municipalities affected by rainfall in May 2024

Grêmio and Internacional raised R $ 76 million for reconstruction actions in Rio Grande do Sul after the floods of May 2024.

The project “Playing together for the reconstruction of RS” was launched by the clubs in partnership with the state government and Cufa (Single Central of Favelas). The information was released by on Monday (5.mai.2025).

Ten companies participated in the initiative, which allocated resources to 8 fronts aimed at the recovery of affected areas. At the launch of the project, R $ 28 million were already compromised.

Among the funded actions are the reconstruction of the Doctor Liberato Salzano School in Porto Alegre and works on roads from 38 municipalities. Also supported by the RS Reconstruction Program – Housing, in partnership with the Leroy Merlin Institute, and the Emancipa Familia Gaúcha, via State Fund to Support Social and Productive Inclusion.

The project also benefited institutions such as RS Food Bank, Rotary Club de Guaíba, Eldorado do Sul and Canoas, Asa Gastronomy and Assembly of God of Guaíba.

The floods impacted 478 of the 497 gaucho municipalities, reaching about 2.4 million people. 184 deaths and 25 disappearances were recorded.

The companies involved were Ambev, Atlas, Bitso, Chiliz, CMPC, CPFL/RGE, Eliane Coatings, Foxbit, OKX and Socia.com. In return, Grêmio and Inter offered institutional visibility, with mentions in social networks, interviews and videos with players.

The donation platform was developed by Imply Tecnologia, which also provided logistical support during the climate event. Volunteers and donors from various regions contributed to the assistance to the victims.
