The President (PT) announced the resignation of the Minister of Women, in another ministerial change of his government. In place, was also named Petista, former Minister of Social Development and Fighting Hunger in Lula’s second term.
Marcia had already told Sheet On Sunday, after meeting with the president. The dismissal of Cida and the appointment of the new minister will be published later this Monday (5) in extra edition of the Federal Official Gazette.
The resignation was confirmed three days after the President and Cida for about 20 minutes. At the time, she left without talking to the press.
Social worker and teacher, Marcia was one of the coordinators of the transitional government to Lula’s third term, alongside the minister (planning) and former Minister of Social Development Tereza Campello.
He is also sister of Gilberto Carvalho, former secretary-general of the presidency of Dilma Rousseff (PT) and current national secretary of popular and solidary economy of the Ministry of Labor.
During Lula’s second term, Marcia held different positions at the Ministry of Social Development, reaching the post of Minister in 2010.
Since the beginning of the year and the rumors gained strength when the first lady, Janja, (United Nations) in which Cida was the representative in March.
According to allies, the gesture would be a way to avoid embarrassment in the proximity of a likely dismissal of Cida.
On Friday (2), after conversation with Cida, Lula met with Carlos Lupi, announcing hours later.
The then minister left the government after the revelation of irregular discounts on the benefits of the INSS (National Institute of Social Security), the body under the responsibility of the portfolio. With the exits of Cida and Lupi, Lula made six exchanges this year: Sidônio Palmeira entered Secom in place of Paulo Pimenta, Frederico de Siqueira Filho took on communications in place of Juscelino Filho, and Gleisi Hoffmann took possession of institutional relations to replace Alexandre Padilha, who in turn took over the ministry of health in place of Nísia Trinity.
