More than 1800 evacuated tourists from the historic city of Petra due to floods

Last Sunday sudden rains caused flooding in Petra, one of Jordan’s most historic cities, forcing the removal of over 1800 tourists from the region. The strong storms caused great damage, and the bodies of two Belgian tourists, mother and son, were found in the choubak area.

Authorities continue to monitor the situation while the region tries to recover from the damage caused by heavy rains.
