The Secretary of Public Security’s membership event, to the PP, scheduled for Thursday (8), will be postponed after a request from the Governor (Republicans).
Tarcisio claimed full agenda over the next 15 days and asked the ceremony to be rescheduled after the return of his trip to New York. The governor will travel to the United States on Sunday (11) to participate in Brazil Week, aimed at promoting Brazilian culture and business abroad. The return was scheduled for Friday (16).
The Derrite membership event, which returns to PP after three years in the PL, would be celebrated with pomp in Vila JK, concert hall located in Vila Olímpia, one of the noblest neighborhoods of São Paulo. The new date has not yet been right by the party direction.
The secretary had discussed his return to PP since 2023 to run for a place to the São Paulo government – Caso Tarcísio Saia Saia candidate for the Presidency – or even the governor’s deputy in 2026. In any scenario, Derrite is seen internally as one of the main names to be launched by the party next year.
Tarcisio’s request for the event to be postponed, and thus could participate, was seen as a sign of the governor’s commitment to support derite in any position he wants to claim – which, in the PP leaders’ view, would strengthen any candidacy of the secretary.
