The First Class of the Federal Supreme Court (STF) decides on Tuesday (6) if it accepts a complaint from the Attorney General’s Office (PGR) to make defendants seven more accused by the coup plot during the government of former President Jair Bolsonaro (PL).
The accused are part of Core 4 of the complaint and are accused of organizing misinformation actions to propagate false news about the electoral process and virtual attacks on institutions and authorities in 2022.

Session
The trial is scheduled to start at 9:30 am, will have a break for lunch and will resume at 14h. If necessary, another session was reserved for the morning of Wednesday (7) to conclude the trial.
The session will be opened by the president of the board, Minister Cristiano Zanin. Then, Minister Alexandre de Moraes, rapporteur of the case, will read the report of the complaint, a document that summarizes the investigation of the Federal Police (PF) and the accusation of PGR.

After the end of reading, the sub -prosecutor Claudia Sampaio Marques will make the accusation on behalf of the PGR, and the accused’s lawyers will also have the word for the support of the defenses.
Then, the board will vote on preliminary questions raised by lawyers, such as allegations of nullity of evidence, suspicion of Moraes to judge the case and illegalities in the reports of Mauro Cid, former assistant of Bolsonaro orders.
After this phase, the vote on merit will begin to decide whether the accused will become defendants and will respond to a criminal case in the STF for crimes of armed criminal organization, violent abolition of the Democratic Rule of Law, coup, damage qualified by violence, serious threat, against the heritage of the Union and deterioration of overturned heritage.

In addition to Moraes, the board is composed by the ministers Flávio Dino, Cristiano Zanin, Cármen Lúcia and Luiz Fux.
Defendant
To date, only the complaints against nuclei 1 and 2 have been judged, totaling 14 defendants. In March this year, unanimously, former President Jair Bolsonaro and seven other defendants became defendants. Complaints against nuclei 3 and 5 will still be analyzed.
