WASHINGTON (Reuters)-President Donald Trump said on Tuesday that he and the main government officials will analyze the possible trade agreements in the next two weeks to decide which one will be accepted.

Trump and the main authorities say they currently negotiate many economic agreements with countries amid a trade war that threatened the global economy, he said, adding that he expects results in the next two weeks.

The comments were made before a bilateral meeting between Trump and Canadian Prime Minister Mark Carney at a time when the two longtime allies face a commercial dispute.

Trump said discussions about the United States-Many-Canada agreement may be renegotiated. The USMCA was signed during Trump’s first term and should expire next year.

Trump said, however, that he is not exactly seeking to extend the free trade agreement. He stated that he would consider renegotiation of the trade agreement, but questioned “if this is really necessary.”

Carney added, “It’s a foundation for a broader negotiation. Some things will have to change.”

Trump also said China wants to negotiate a trade agreement to end competing tariffs.

“They want to negotiate and want to meet,” he said. “And we will meet with them at the right time.”
