The United Kingdom Prime Minister Keir Starmer has ordered a review of Great Britain’s war plans in response to the growing fears of a possible direct military attack by Russia, as reported by the British newspaper .
It is believed that the officials of the Office of the Cabinet are updating the “Plan for the Defense of the Homeland”, which details how the government would respond to an attack of a hostile foreign state, according to the same medium.
The measure arrives after a series of threats against the United Kingdom by the Kremlin and the propagandists of the Russian president, Vladimir Putin, for his support for Ukraine. The updated plan will include scenarios in which Great Britain’s national infrastructure will be a missile white, cyber attacks and even nuclear eyelets.
In addition, it will establish contingency plans to house the government ministers and the Royal Family, as well as to maintain key public services during time of war, he added .
The cabinet already published in January a risk assessment in which it concluded that a successful attack “would probably cause deaths between civilians and members of emergency services”, in addition to causing serious economic damage and interruptions in essential services.
Last month, the officials executed a scenario that simulated the first night of Russian bombing against Ukraine to test the United Kingdom aerial defenses. The Blythe Crawford Air Commodore, former head of the RAF Air and Space War Center, said the result “was not a beautiful panorama.”
