CT reporter Michal Kubal stated that there are two meetings between Zlaleský and Donald Trump, which characterize their mutual relations – an oval study and then the Sistine Chapel. He wanted to know from the Ukrainian President what he talked to the White House boss in the Vatican.

“It seems to me that, first of all, we have already shown everything I was talking about, and secondly, I believe that the meeting between me and President Trump face-to-face, without advisors and without the media, without anything, turned out much more productive,” said Zelenskyj.

Specific things

In his words, there were “several things that were not general but very specific” during the interview.

He (Trump, note) got answers from me and I got them from him. There were also proposals. We will see how it will be realized, but so far what we have talked about, it has already begun to gain momentum and it can bring a practical result. So I believe that this format offers greater confidence between us and more cooperation between us and the United States – and less confidence in Putin. I believe that this format has shown that it can bring a real result, ”said the President of the Ukrainian.

What will Putin do?

Analyst Vladimír Bednár, who monitors the course of Russian aggression in Ukraine for Aktuality.sk that the meeting before the funeral of Pope Francis was dedicated to the American information portal Axios and referred to sources from the American executive environment.

According to Axios, Greeding told Trump that Putin would not accept a ceasefire unless the US President begins to put more pressure on him. Volodymyr Genskyj also reportedly called for a return to the original US proposal for an unconditional ceasefire as a starting point for peace talks, which Russia refused. According to one of Axios’s sources, Donald Trump agreed with this view.

Zelenskyj reiterated that Ukraine did not recognize Crimea for the Russian territory, which Trump replied that it would not ask for it. On the contrary, Donald Trump was putting pressure on Greeny to sign an agreement to access Ukrainian minerals as soon as possible.
