The vice president of the Republic, made a joke during an event promoted by the Ministry of the Environment, when choosing the pulpit on the left side of the stage: “The left works better,” he said.
The speech was made in response to the event’s ceremony master, who told him to choose “the best side.” In reaction, the public of the 5th National Environment Conference applauded and cheered Alckmin.
Before, at the event, the viewers had also shouted “without amnesty”, in mention of the proposal that aims to grant forgiveness to those involved in the attacks of January 8.
The Minister of the General Secretariat, Márcio Macêdo, repeated the joke of the vice president, when taking the word at the event. Also present were Minister Marina Silva (Environment and Climate Change), Anielle Franco (racial equality), Macaé Evaristo (Human Rights), Marcia Lopes (women) and the president of the STJ (Superior Court of Justice), Herman Benjamin.
Alckmin’s speech was one of the first of the conference. After his participation, he went to Brasilia Airport to receive recommendations from the President (PT), who is starting to Moscow on Tuesday night (6).
In the absence of Lula, Alckmin is the acting president, and assumes the official commitments of the presidency in Brazil.
