Bolsonaro gathers protesters in Brasilia for the amnesty for whom he tried to blow

“Walk for Humanitarian Friendship” was summoned on Friday

Thousands of protesters are expected in Brasilia after the call of former President Jair Bolsonaro to ask for an amnesty for his own, for those who are accused of planning the attempted coup and to those who invaded the three powers.

The entitled “Walk for Humanitarian Friendship” was summoned on Friday, when the former Brazilian leader was still hospitalized, recovering from gut surgery on 13 April.

Bolsonaro was operated on after feeling poorly in the middle of a political digression in which he sought, once again, support for an amnesty bill for radicals convicted of participating in the attempt of coup of January 8, 2023, when the headquarters of the three powers were invaded in Brasilia.

“Peaceful walk towards the National Congress. I will try to be present if the health situation of the moment allows. For the humanitarian amnesty!” He wrote on social networks Bolsonaro, that he is ineligible and responds to the Supreme Court on charges of having orchestrated the failed coup against the president, Lula da Silva.

According to local press, which cites sources of the organization of the event, they should participate between 2,500 and five thousand people, in which it is the first demonstration in Brasilia since the attack on the heart of Brasilia democracy, on January 8, 2023, when thousands of radicals invaded the headquarters of the three powers.

Protesters, as on January 8, 2023, will go down the emblematic Esplanade of Ministries but will find, this time, the square of the three powers blocked by the authorities.

“The staff will be reinforced in order to ensure the safety and tranquility of all involved in the demonstration,” said the Military Police of the Federal District (PM-DF), cited by Correio Brasiliense.

As has happened regularly in the other demonstrations, it will be organized by Pastor Silas Malafaia, leader of the Assembly of God Church Victory in Christ and should have several parliamentarians affected by Bolsonaro, who will be on an electric trio to speak to the public.

A week after the inauguration of Lula da Silva, on January 8, 2023, thousands of Bolsonaro supporters violently invaded the government’s headquarters, the National Congress and the Supreme Court, appealing to military intervention.

The riots have been controlled and, so far, about 500 people have been sentenced to prison sentences up to 17 years for crimes such as coup and violent abolition of the democratic rule of law.

About 500 people, accused of less serious crimes, signed legal agreements.

The far right, with the support of some centrist parties, is trying to promote a bill to enforce the convicts, but the House of Representatives has not yet admitted it for appreciation.
