The Slovak National Center for Human Rights (SNSĽP) published a report on the observance of human rights for 2024. It draws attention to the increase in hatred, weakening the rule of law and persistent segregation in education. TASR informed about it from the CIS.
“The report for 2024 provides the public evaluating a picture of the state of selected human rights and fundamental freedoms in Slovakia,” said the Executive Director of the Silvia Porubänová. They told the CISS that the problem was a number of attacks against Roma, LGBTI+ people, refugees and also Ukrainians or Jews. The report also draws attention to efforts to restrict independent media. Also for the placement of Roma children in separate classes or schools with a lower standard of teaching.
