SAO PAULO (Reuters)-The meat processor and food producer JBS () will invest R $ 216 million in four units of Seara in Santa Catarina, the company said on Tuesday night.
The funds will be intended for the modernization and expansion of the Pork Processing Unit in Itapiranga, a Bird Granja in Bom Retiro and the Itaiópolis and Nova Venice Bird Processing Units.
With an investment of R $ 98 million, the Itapiranga unit will have the processing capacity expanded by 600 pigs per day. In Bom Retiro will be invested R $ 89 million to build a new farm for production of matrices.

In the Itaiópolis unit, Seara will invest R $ 15 million in the modernization of the bird plant, focusing on improving the production mix. In Nova Venice, the bird unit will receive $ 14 million to increase processing speed, expanding capacity by 38,000 birds per day.
