Supreme Court authorizes Trump to ban transgender people in the Armed Forces

This decision allows the rule that disqualifies transgender to military service to be in force despite the opposition of the three liberal judges of the Supreme.

The Supreme Court has authorized Donald Trump on Tuesday to ban transgender people from the Armed Forces, while several lawsuits take place.

The institution thus intervened in the contestation of a norm that disqualifies transgender people for military service.

The Supreme Liberal Judges said that they kept the norm on their part.

Since returning to the White House in January, Trump has been striving to retreat the rights of transgender people.

Among his actions is an executive order where he considers that the sexual identity of the transgender military “conflicts with the commitment of a soldier to an honorable, true and disciplined lifestyle, including his personal life”, and harms military readiness.
