Former mayor of, Paulo Serra (PSDB) states that the position of defining the path that toucans will follow in the election of 2026 in the state of São Paulo.
“The decisive aspect for the election is what will do Tarcisio. If he competes for reelection, planning is one. And if it is for a national project, the dispute here in the state opens, changes completely,” says Serra.
Since completing his second mandate as mayor in the city of ABC, earlier this year, Serra has been placed as a toucan candidate for governor next year. And at the moment there is a season at Harvard, in a period of study.
In a recent survey of the Paraná Institute, it marked 7.1% in one of the scenarios, ahead of names such as the

If Tarcisio opts for reelection, the way the governor points out as his favorite, there would be a tendency for the PSDB to support him in the election for a second term, says the toucan. “We have an identity with the current management, which follows many points that the PSDB applied to its management in the past,” he says.
In this case, a possible plan B to Serra would be a Senate candidacy. “This will depend on the circumstance, but the candidacy for the Senate is a way that pleases a lot,” he says.
The PSDB is in the middle of a fusion process with Somos, which should be implemented in the second half of this year. The former mayor says his name as a pre-candidate is well accepted by the two subtitles.
“The climate with Somos is very good. São Paulo will be one of the solutions within this process of party strengthening that we are building,” he says.
In the coming months, already back to Brazil, Serra intends to follow in contacts to present his name as a pre-candidate for the government, or to another term next year.
