Vice President and Minister of Development, Industry, Commerce and Services, Geraldo Alckmin, said that he continues to negotiate with US representatives to reduce damage that can be caused by tariffs imposed by the Trump administration.
“Brazil’s willingness is negotiation, a win-win. Foreign trade is winning. I’m more efficient in one area, I sell; you are more efficient in another, I buy,” explained the strategy during a meeting held on Tuesday (6) from the front of entrepreneurship.
According to Alckmin, the country to which Brazil exports most is China. But for the United States, export is of high added value. “Airplanes, auto parts, machines, backhoes, industrial value -added products. Therefore, this relationship with the United States is important and we are acting to show that there is no deficit with Brazil. We have opportunities for economic complementarity in other areas,” he said.
In the case of agribusiness, according to the vice president, the tariff increase will benefit the sector, which is very exporting, quite strong and competitive. “With a good climate and a record harvest this year, Agro will make a difference,” he celebrates.
Data Centers
The vice president also said that it should be launched in the coming days, a large program to attract data centers to the country. Brazil can receive $ 2 trillion investments in the area, because it has abundant energy, especially in the Northeast, and this energy is clean and renewable, according to him.
