Tesla sold just over 58,000 vehicles in China in April, a 6.0% drop compared to the previous year and 26% less than in March, which marks the fourth month in a row in the fall in annual and monthly comparison, according to data from China Passenger Car Association (CPCA) released on Wednesday, 7.
The US automaker has been facing increasing competition from its Chinese rivals, which makes CEO Elon Musk’s car manufacturer losing market share.
Byd led sales with a record of 372,615 units delivered, followed by Geely Automobile with 125,563 deliveries.
CPCA estimated that sales of electric and passenger car car increased 42% over the previous year to about 1.14 million units in April.
