The Ukrainian forces have attacked a rare and precious Russian naval radar system mounted on a vehicle, according to a video published by a Ukrainian military unit. The images supposedly show Ukrain .
Only a limited number of Russian warships are equipped with the naval version of the Radar Zaslon. If the attack is confirmed, it would represent “a considerable setback” for the Russian Navy, which has already suffered significant losses during the war ordered by the Russian president, Vladirmi Putin, against Ukraine, as he has pointed out the same medium.
This is also the first time that the system is attacked in the conflict, which began in February 2022, said the military unit. The images were published by the Raid 413 Battalion of Ukraine, a unit within the unmanned systems forces, which specializes in the war with drones.
The battalion described the Zaslon as a “unique radar station based on a ship” that can detect objectives at a distance of up to 300 kilometers and track simultaneously up to 200 objects.
“And, apparently, it has never been achieved throughout the war,” unity said in a publication on its social networks. The video, filmed with a drone, shows the radar being attacked while moving through an empty field. The images, however, does not show the consequences of the attack.
