A fourth round of talks on the Iranian nuclear program between Iran and the United States is likely to take place on the weekend in the Oman capital, with Iranian state media reporting on May 11 as a possible date.

The Iranian news media news media was the first to report that the repetition of Iran – US talks on the nuclear program will be on Sunday, citing a non -named official.

Warning that time has not yet been finalized, an Iranian source close to the negotiating team told Reuters: “Talks will take place in two days in Muskat, or Saturday and Sunday or Sunday and Monday.”

The fourth round of talks originally scheduled for May 3 in Rome was postponed, with Oman who has a mediator role citing “logistical reasons”.

Leading US negotiator Steve Whitkov also said Washington is trying to become the next round of talks this weekend, according to the US news website Axios, the day after the Iranian Foreign Ministry statement.

Separately, Russian President Vladimir Putin today discussed progress in talks between Iran and the US with Iranian President Massoud Pezkian, the Kremlin said.

Western countries say the Iranian nuclear program is geared to weapons production, while Iran insists that its program is intended exclusively for non -military purposes.
