The jaguar that was captured after is stable, alert and conscious, according to veterinary bulletin released by the government of Mato Grosso do Sul, on the morning of Wednesday (7).
According to the newsletter, the animal is more active at night, which is common for felines. The jaguar continues at CRAS (Wildlife Rehabilitation Center) in Campo Grande.

Remember the case
The 60 -year -old homemade Jorge Aval was in the Mata de Taurus Dead (MS) region, about 230 km from Campo Grande. He was killed on Monday (21) and his body was located the next day.

Jorge was attacked while trying to collect honey on a deck near the woods. Residents of the region report that the attack was suddenly and that a man who located the victim found blood marks and traces of the animal’s presence.
The victim’s remains were found following the trails left by the animal in the woods. .
The feline would only have retreated after being frightened by gun shots. The case remains under investigation and, according to the authorities, are considered hypotheses such as food shortages, defensive behavior, reproductive period of the animal or some involuntary attitude of the victim for the motivation of the attack.

At the beginning of the investigation that investigated the disappearance of the caretaker, agents found only a “coagulated biological matter”, compatible with blood, in the Mata region.
Days later, police found remains and part of the body, which were collected at the scene were sent to the Aquidauana Forensic Medicine Center for necroscopic and DNA examinations. Necroscopic examinations led to confirmation of Jorge’s identity.
In the feline’s feces, agents found bones and apparently human hair, said delegate Luis Fernando Domingos Mesquita, responsible for the investigations, in an interview with CNN.
The material was collected, the remains extracted and taken to the Institute of Expertise for analysis. Experts hope to cross the show with the remains found in the woods and the coagulated blood also collected. The results must confirm that the animal devoured Jorginho, as it was known in the region.
