The fruit you will enjoy the first year after planting
If you do not want to wait for years for the first sweet reward, choose fruit trees that will produce soon. A great choice is columnar apple trees, which are suitable for smaller gardens or larger pots. These specially bred trees do not take up much space and can please you with the first apples in the first year of planting. Similarly, you can also see fruits in the mulberry, specifically in a dwarf variety, which is unpretentious and extremely fruitful. Mulberry offers a number of dark, sweet and sour fruits in two to three years.
Favorite rapid shrubs are undoubtedly blackberries and blueberries. Blackberries can surprise you with the first crop for the second year and will supply you with good care every summer. Blueberries are a little slower, but for the third year you can harvest the first blue balls. In addition, it is also suitable for containers, so you can grow them on the balcony. You just need to think of the right pH of the soil and give them enough sun.
Another quick candidate is gooseberries that are beginning to produce one to three years after planting. They are unpretentious, well tolerated by a cooler climate and will delight you with their stamina. If you want to enjoy a truly early harvest, you can also reach for seedlings over 3-5 years, which already have ahead and will be a significantly shorter time for fruits.
Small garden, great joy
You don’t have to have a large set to indulge in your own harvest. Even a small backyard, terrace or balcony offers space for growing fruit trees that will please you in a few seasons. And as we said, some even before! Just choose the right species, give them a little care and patience, and the first sweet fruits will be your deserved reward. In addition, the presence of flowering shrubs and strips will attract life into the garden and turn it into a place where you will feel good all year round.
