The Minister of the Attorney General of the Union (), said on Thursday (8), that there is a “strong suspicion” that those investigated in the retired fraud scheme have “a strategy of patrimonial concealment outside Brazil”. Therefore, AGU has asked the courts that the passports of all the leaders of the investigated entities be seized. It also requested that cryptocurrency brokerages can locate and pledge existing values. “There is strong evidence that this criminal organization is using cryptocurrencies for the patrimonial deviation of fraud perpetrated against retirees and pensioners,” the minister told a news conference on Thursday.

The government filed a lawsuit in the morning asking for the blockade of assets of suspected associations of fraud against retirees. In the action, AGU asks R $ 2.56 billion to be blocked from these entities. Messiah said that “it is very possible that this is the first block of precautionary actions that we are starting.”

“As new information comes from the work done by CGU and the work of police investigation, it is added to the work already started and that it leads us to the adoption of other precautionary measures against other entities, if eventually the work of police intelligence identifies the adequacy of the legal requirements now has,” said the minister. According to the Union’s general lawyer, the action calls for the precautionary block of the companies pointed out as “orange” in the INSS fraud scheme and that the request for blocking of R $ 2.56 billion of associations “is the initial value”.

“The work continues and will be brought as soon as we have new information. We decided to request the precautionary blockage not only of the associative entities and their managers, but of the oranges companies pointed out by the police inquiry and adopted by CGU as companies that have been used for concealment and property transport. This measure is of paramount importance so that we can succeed in the screening of the resource,” Messiah added.
