The position of the Brazilian government of how (first command of the capital) and (Red Command) as terrorist organizations is cowardly and makes it difficult to confront the problem, says federal deputy Danilo Forte (Union-CE).
The US president has evaluated the possibility of classifying Brazilian factions as terrorist groups, as did what he did with the Venezuelan organization Tren de Aragua. The measure is supported by Bolsonarists, who accuse Lula of being weak in combating organized crime.
Danilo Forte is the author of a project that extends the application of the anti -terrorism law to criminal organizations and private militias that perform terrorist acts. The text has already had an urgency signed by 333 deputies, above 171 signatures necessary for the application to be voted in the plenary.
For him, the position of the Brazilian government is not only wrong, but also cowardly. “We are wasting time to make this confrontation,” he says.
“Sectors of the economy are being invaded by criminal organizations. Operators linked to them are replacing good operators, as they did in gas stations, the distribution of cigarettes. It’s the same model,” he argues. “It is a violence that is no longer underground, no longer on the periphery, it is in economic centers.”
The parliamentarian states that a more incisive action of the government is lacking. It also argues that Make up the problem, as it does not give the police tools to confront criminal organizations. “I think it’s very shy how the federal government deals with it,” he criticizes.
Forte says that by classifying criminal organizations as terrorist groups, there is an automatic transfer of justice, which would speed judgments, blockade and prevent violent acts.
“You can do police intervention preventively. And with this prevention you guarantee to the population of that region that it will have freedom, including to buy your gas or your water gallon wherever you want,” he says.
