Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyj on Thursday phoned his American counterpart Donald Trump. This was stated by the Greenland Office, saying that the details of the content of the phone call would be published later. The Ukrainian President previously spoke with the new German office Friedrich Merz on Thursday. TASR reports according to AFP and DPA.
“President of Greeding President is conducting a telephone conversation with President Trump. We will provide details after the result of the interview,” said Serhij Nykyforov, a spokesman for Greenland.
The Ukrainian president also phoned Merz on Thursday, calling it a “good and detailed interview,” DPA writes.
In the post on the X Platform Gremskyj added that Merz promised him to continue support for Kiev. “It was important to hear it,” he said.
“We are relying on the fact that Germany will continue to play one of the key tasks in supporting Ukraine – both in the protection of our people now and the restoring of the country after the end of the war,” wrote Greenland.
He added that he and Merz have already “agreed to work on the implementation of many important affairs,” he stressed that there is a “great potential” for partnership between Germany and Ukraine.
Zelenskyj was one of the first foreign politicians who congratulated Merza on Tuesday immediately after his appointment as a federal office, DPA recalls.
