The intentional homicide and femicide rates did not have 11.2% in 2025 in the monthly average compared to last year, according to state government data. It is the least index of the current historical series, which began in 1996.
In the first four months of this year, there were 253 cases, or 63 per day, against 71/day in 2024. On social networks, OG celebrated the fact that the capital, Vitória, did not register any homicide in April, the first time this has happened in 29 years.
Other positive data highlighted by the government are the fact that 31 municipalities have been without homicides for over 100 days, 20 for over 200 days, 8 for over a year and 2 years ago.
According to the state government, the main reason for the fall of numbers is the State Program, which combines investment in security forces with social investments.
