Dean of the Federal Court of Auditors charges rapporteur on delay in the analysis of undue discount processes
The Ministers of the TCU (Federal Court of Audit) Walton Alencar Rodrigues and Aroldo Cedraz discussed on Wednesday (7.MAI.2025) during the vote that analyzed resources on undue discounts on Retirement and Pensions of the INSS (National Institute of Social Security).
Rapporteur of the case, Cedraz voted to reject all the resources presented by the retired associations and the INSS itself. After the vote, Walton publicly questioned why the process was included and withdrawn from agenda 6 times over a year.
“I’ve been in this court for over 30 years and I’ve never seen it happen except in another process of Minister Cedraz”said Walton, dean of the court. “This process demands an explanation not only to me, but to all Brazilian society”.
Cedraz countered, stating that Walton’s speech sought to raise unfounded suspicions against him. “It’s another lie to try to get me out of the rapporteur of this process”he declared.
After the discussion, the president of TCU, Vital do Rêgo, ended the vote. Unanimously, the plenary rejected all the resources presented.
