They approved, on Thursday (8), a bill that establishes a fee to be charged from owners of private aircraft and helicopters in each landing or takeoff in the municipality.
The text now needs to be approved in the second round and later goes to the mayor’s sanction or veto ().
TPA (Environmental Preservation Rate) is a means to compensate for environmental damage with. The fee today would be R $ 200.00 per ton for helicopters; and R $ 400.00 per ton for private aircraft on each flight.
The fare should not be applied to commercial flights, rulers aircraft and those operating by a medical procedure.
The text, which is authored by former councilor and current state deputy Eduardo Suplicy (), was re-presented in the current legislature by councilors Luna Zarattini (PT), Nabil Bonduki (PT) and Amanda Paschoal (PSOL).
“The rate aims to obtain a counterpart for carbon dioxide that these vehicles emit very intensely. Today is not taxed, because IPVA is not charged on jet and helicopters, unlike cars and motorcycles,” says Bonduki.
“This project is important, will burden those super rich that is willing to wear a jet instead of a career plane. Some circulate from [avenida Brigadeiro] Faria Lima to the jet or helicopter airport, this shows that there is no resource problem, “adds the councilman.
