European Parliament toppled the benefit at the request of the German Public Prosecution Service, which investigates Petr Bystron for evasion and deviations while he was a legislator in the country
The European Parliament withdrew this Friday (9.MAI.2025) the parliamentary immunity of the MEP Petr Bystron (alternative to Germany, right) for corruption investigations.
The Munich Public Prosecution Service investigates bystron for receiving payments and transfers of cryptocurrencies to the site “Voice gives Europe” to vote in favor of interests of the Russian government. The cases were at the time that the MEO was in Bundestag, the German Parliament.
According to the portal, the right -wing politician would be involved in at least 6 cases of passive corruption and at least 5 tax evasion situations. Bystron denies the accusations and says they are politically motivated.
The politician has had his immunity removed in an investigation, which began in April 2025, about a Nazi greeting made in a 2022 publication.
At AFD, bystron composes the party’s most ideological wing, as it has anti-immigration views and against the European Union. In several sessions of Parliament, the politician opposed the sending of peace troops to Ukraine and took a favorable position to Russia.
In addition to Bystron, public prosecutors also investigate another AFD politician on bribery accusations. The German parliamentarian, who did not have his identity disclosed, would have received bribes to collect information for the Chinese intelligence service.
The newspaper said the investigation would have Maximilian Krah as the main focus. German police have already arrested a former Krah advisor for trying to send more than 500 confidential documents to China.
