The president of France, Emmanuel Macron, and the Prime Minister of Poland, Donald Tusk, have signed this Saturday a historical treaty in which both commit themselves, among other issues, to the mutual defense in case of an armed attack.
“We share with the Prime Minister a clear and strong conviction. We need a united, strong, sovereign and competitive Europe. Our joint work can contribute decisively to it. We have a central responsibility: peace and security in our continent,” said the French president, accompanied by his Polish counterpart, during the press conference.
“I have no doubt that this deployment would be possible”
Emmanuel Macron, after being asked about his commitment.
As a sign of this, the Frenchman wanted to remember that his country took nothing more than five days to move his troops to Romania, located on the Eastern NATO flank, at the time the Russian aggression occurred to Ukraine in February 2022.
