The Minister of FARM, FERNANDO HADDADhe said in an interview with journalists in São Paulo on Friday (9) that Scott Bessent, Secretary of the Treasury of USAhe recognized, in a bilateral meeting this week, that targeting South America is an “anomaly.”

“I made the Treasury Secretary a seizure with the fact that South America is one of the few regions of the planet that has a commercial deficit with the US. And to target a region that has a deficit with you does not seem reasonable to me. He himself acknowledged that it is an anomaly,” he said.

Haddad met on Sunday (4) with Scott Bessent in Los Angeles, California. To journalists, the minister described the meeting as “Franco”: “We approach all the most delicate topics, and I want to believe that we have a work schedule forward to trim edges,” he said.

According to the minister, the government left the meeting with the perception that “there is room to sit at the table.” The message from the United States was that the subject is not a “taboo” and can be treated, Haddad said.

In São Paulo, Haddad participated at the B3 event headquarters on the Revive Calculator, a IRS tool, which with data from the scholarship, helps the investor to calculate the Income Tax (IR) on variable income operations.
