Rose care is an important step to grow healthy, beautifully flowering rose bushes. Although roses are often considered capricious flowers, proper care of the environment, soil and regular fertilization with pruning, these plants will delight the eye for many years.
Roses are some of the most beautiful garden plants. These flowers have many varieties and the color palette is also very wide. Unfortunately, sometimes these plants get sick and therefore no longer look gorgeous. Both beginners and experienced gardeners should take care not only of the appearance but also the resistance of the plant to diseases and pests.
Roses began to be cultivated more than 5,000 years ago. Today, the popularity of these flowers is still not reduced. However, not all rose growers know how to take care of these flowers to delight them with wonderful rings and be pests resistant. You really have ingredients in your home, from which you can make natural and effective fertilizers. Roses you will definitely thank you!
Pruning is very important for roses
These flowers like sunny and warm places, but they grow poorly in drafts and dry soil. They are best suited for peat substrate, which is characterized by fertile, conductive and, most importantly, humid soil. Roses are mostly pruned in the spring after the first frost, cutting dry shoots and branches: it promotes rose growth. Always prune the rose no more than 0.5 cm above the eye and water once every two weeks. Remember to fertilize roses regularly. If you do everything properly, the roses will certainly delight you with the abundance of rings.
Banana peel fertilizers
Rose fertilization is definitely worth using organic tools you have in your kitchen. This will be perfect for banana peel, which can stimulate rose blooms. Burn the banana peel under the rose bush: it will feed the plant and protect it from aphids. You can also use liquid fertilizer from banana peel and water: add the chopped banana peel with warm water and leave to stand. After 24 hours, water the roses with this water.
You can also make a banana peel dressing that will fit not only for roses but also for other plants in your garden. Place the crushed banana peel in a jar and fill with boiled water. Turn the jar. Keep in a dark place for 2 weeks. Dilute the resulting mixture and water the flowers.
Proper watering – the key to healthy roses
One of the most important factors on which successful rose care depends is watering. Roses do not like complete drying or reproach. It is best to water them rarely, but abundantly – for water to reach the root area at a depth of 15-20 cm. It is especially important to do this in the morning hours so that the land can start by evening, as the constant moist soil can promote the onset of fungal diseases. Avoid watering through leaves and rings, especially on hot days – in which case roses can burn. Mulching with compost or wood bark around the base of the bush will help maintain moisture and protect against weeds.
