Paulo Teixeira also defended the ‘liberation’ of public resources, which were captured by parliamentary amendments during the government of former President Jair Bolsonaro (PL), according to him
The Minister of Agrarian Development (MDA) and Family Farming, said that the government of the President of the Republic, is with the “foot on the accelerator” to do the agrarian reform in the country. The statement was made during the 5th National Agrarian Reform Fair promoted by the Landless Workers Movement (MST) in the Water White Park, West Zone of São Paulo, on Thursday (8). “This year, we have the highest goal in the history of land reform – and we have already met half this goal. Once President Lula said to me: Paulo, the hard was for you. The easiest has already been done,” said the minister. “Now have been the most expensive lands in Brazil to be acquired. But we are not embarrassed by it.” Teixeira also defended the “liberation” of public resources, which were captured by parliamentary amendments during the former president’s government (PL), he said.
The minister states that it is necessary to cut expenses of these funds intended for the legislature and not of public policies. He also made a charge to the president to work on land expropriation. “I hope that, in May, we can, with President Lula, go to Bahia to deliver the new MST settlements in Parallelas, in Petrobras area. I hope Lula will go to Paraná for the delivery of the Brazilian farm,” said Teixeira. “I hope you will give us schedule to the north of Bahia, to deliver the saltpeter; and to the south of Pernambuco, to settle the Embrapa area and another area we indicate in the state. I also hope we can solve the situation of Fazenda Lajinha, in Alagoas.”
