The American artist Ne-yo45, joined Brazilians MC Daniel26, e Bellifor the track “Me & Tu”. The record was recorded during the Gringo passage in Brazil in September 2024, to the festival Rock in Rioand there is also a clip made in Los Angeles, the United States, earlier this year.
“Me and You” is sung in Portuguese and English and is a fusion of pop, R&B and funk. “I went to the Ne-Yo show in Sao Paulo and met Daniel and Ne-Yo himself there. In the dressing room, we talked a little, took pictures and took the opportunity to show them this song that was ready. They liked it, I invited both to participate and they bumped into the press.
The track is now available on digital platforms. Already the clip, will be released on YouTube at 12h this Friday (9).
In a press conference accompanied by CNN, MC Daniel told details of the partnership. According to him, Ne-Yo set up his own part of the song in about 15 minutes.
“He still wanted to talk about Portuguese. He was interested in saying the word Saudade. His concern to do something cool to Brazil, like our language, was unbelievable. I wanted him to live here,” joked the funkeiro.
For the Brazilian, the collaboration was more than an honor. “He is the king of music, Mufasa,” he said, referring to the classic “The Lion King.” “He is still very reviewed,” he added.
Mc Daniel also told how Ne-Yo is part even of his history. “I took buses listening to his songs, sending it to all the girlfriends,” he concluded.
