France and Poland conclude the first contract of this kind, which opens up new possibilities in the field of security and technological research.

Polish Prime Minister Donald Tusk informed on Friday that the contract he signed during the day with French President Emmanuel Macron contains, inter alia, a two -sided military assistance commitment in the event of a security threat. He said this at a press conference before departure to France, informs Warsaw newsletter TASR.

“Otherwise, the NATO Declaration is that it undertakes to help, and otherwise it is when a particular country possessing such a defensive capital as France will say that it is undertaken to provide military assistance to Poland in the event of a threat,” the Prime Minister said, expressing his satisfaction with the content of the contract. According to the Prime Minister, this is the first document of such an importance to sign Paris with a country with which it does not have a common border.

The Prime Minister recalled that the work on the document that politicians would sign in the French city of Nancy lasted for several months and the contract concludes the historical stage of increasingly friendly relations between the two countries. He also informed that it would be followed by a similar contract with the United Kingdom.

Tusk said that the joint efforts with President Emmanuel Macron aimed at strengthening the EU security and its Eastern border. In addition to defense obligations, the agreement also opens the possibilities of cooperation in the field of agriculture, cosmic research and advanced defense technologies. “Since today, Poland has been in a clearly better position than ever in history,” concluded the Prime Minister of the Polish government.
