Historical leader of, João Pedro Stedile declared support for the candidacy of Federal Deputy Rui Falcão (SP) to the presidency of.
The demonstration occurs amid the speculation that another coordinator of the Landless Movement, João Paulo Rodrigues, could launch his own candidacy in the internal election that the party will hold in July.
“Comrade Rui Falcão I have known since the Paris commune,” says Stedile, in a video recorded alongside the deputy, in a humorous reference to a brief communist experience in the 19th century in France.
“He is a valuable comrade, and many militants of our sprinkled by Brazil, who also do party militancy, are with Rui, because, and it is my personal opinion, our party needs to give a rejuvenate, precise blood of struggle, combativity, recover the mass movement,” said the landless leader.
Rodrigues’s candidacy was Washington Quaquá, but has not been made official yet.
