A judicial jury in Britain acknowledged two men guilty of illegal frying of the legendary Maple Maple, who grew for about 200 years on a place called Sycamore Gap (Javorové sedlo) near Hadrian’s wall in the north of England. Informed on Friday AP, writes TASR.
Before the Crown Court in Newcastle, both men denied any participation in this vandalic act. They said they just wanted to “have a little fun” when in September 2023 they faded this legendary and sought -after landscape -forming tree. According to the indictment file, a pair of men committed “the arborist equivalent of a nonsensical brutal act” and Its action caused damage for more than £ 620,000 (€ 731,885). The damage caused to the nearby Hadrian Vale is estimated at £ 1144 (1350 euros).
The prosecutor’s office stated before the court that the men fired the tree by a chainsaw, which was an intentional crime, which they filmed by mobile phone and then posted on social networks.
