The US Department of Defense (Pentagon) will begin to immediately withdraw from the Army up to a thousand military personnel who openly identify as a transgender, giving the other 30 days to self-identify, according to a new directive issued on Friday.
Following the decision of the Supreme Court of Tuesday favorable to the White House, which allowed the Trump administration to impose a ban on transgender people on the Armed Forces, the Defense Department will begin to analyze medical records to identify others that have not taken over as a transgender.
US Secretary of Defense, Pete Hegseth, who issued the latest directive, had already made his opinion clear after the court’s decision.
