Commission of Social Affairs (CAS) votes on Wednesday (14.MAI.2025), at 9am, the project authorizing paid license for spouse or partner who accompanies breast cancer patients at chemotherapy, radiotherapy or hormone therapy sessions.

For the rapporteur, paid license is justified because the companion plays a key role in the treatment of cancer patients.
“Treatment can be emotionally exhausting and the presence of an escort offers emotional comfort, reducing feelings of anxiety, fear and loneliness. In addition, the companion can help with everyday tasks such as consultations, management, administration medicines, Organization of hours of treatment and daily care, allowing the patient to focus on recovery, ”says the report.
Instead of creating a new law, Jussara proposes in the substitute to insert the right to paid license, which guarantees tax incentive to participating companies. Today, the program offers income tax deduction to the company that offers its employees expanding the maternity leave of 120 days to 180 days of paternity leave from 5 to 20 days.
Other projects
CAS also votes two other ending projects in the 4th: O, which creates the seal “Diversity, inclusion and equity in the workplace”, and the union assistance to validate employee resignation with more than one year in the company.
Another five proposals are included in the Commission’s agenda. It guarantees the public employee the right to follow a spouse or partner who has been displaced in the public service ration. It is exempt from the obligation to register cosmetics, personal hygiene products and handcrafted perfumes. The creates the seal of engineering or solidarity architecture for companies or engineering and architecture professionals who perform projects intended for needy communities.
