The Acre Court of Justice (TJAC), through its Criminal Chamber, rejected Habeas Corpus’s request submitted by the defense of Wellington da Costa Batista, also known as “Black Bala”, considered one of the most influenced leaders in the state crime underworld. The determination of the court preserves the defendant’s pre -trial detention, decreed by Judge Robson Aleixo, of the 1st Court of the Rio Branco Jury Court, in connection with his supposed role in the so -called “Taquari slaughter”, where six individuals of rival factions lost their lives. It is pointed as one of the articulators of the massacre.
