Petrobras reported on Saturday that it began the drilling of a well in the Tachipe field in São Sebastião do Passé, 80 km from Salvador, resuming the oil drills in the state of Bahia after six years.
“The EBS-08 probe, operated by EBS Perfurations, is the first of the three drilling probes already hired for operations in the production activity in Bahia,” Petrobras said in a statement.
In addition to the three drilling probes, the new contracts encompass, according to the company, ten new land production probes (SPT), from 13 to 23.
“Petrobras estimates another 100 wells in Bahia over the next five years, increasing current production,” he added.
Currently the company produces in Bahia 17 thousand barrels of oil equivalent per day, in 20 concessions and approximately 2,000 terrestrial wells, in addition to the Manati gas platform in Valença.
