Ukraine expelled two Hungarian diplomats in response to Budapest’s step

The Hungarian Foreign Minister accused Ukraine of the discreditation campaign and adds that Hungary is deciding on the accession of Ukraine into the European Union.

Ukraine announced on Friday the expulsion of two Hungarian diplomats. She took this step in response to the expulsion of two employees of the Ukrainian embassy from Budapest. According to the AFP report, TASR reports this.

“Two Hungarian diplomats must leave our country within 48 hours,” said Ukrainian Foreign Minister Andriy Sybiha in a post on the X platform, “We are acting in response to Hungary’s steps in reciprocity and our national interests,” he added.

“Today, two agents working under diplomatic coverage at the Ukrainian Embassy in Budapest were expelled from Hungary,” said Hungarian Foreign Minister Péter Szijjártó on Friday.

“We Hungarians want peace and reject war, we will not allow Hungary to be involved in war. These are some of the reasons for the discreditation campaign launched by Ukraine. She announced the detention of two members of the Hungarian secret services.
