Nyon-The 2027 women’s football World Cup in Brazil is played for the second and last time with 32 teams. For the final round 2031, the field is increased to 48 teams. This was decided by the Council of the World Association (FIFA) on a virtually held meeting. The number of game increases from 64 to 104 games, the tournament takes a week longer. This also increases Austria’s opportunities for a premier participation if it does not spell on a sporting way for 2027.
