How do you take care of your vehicle’s tires? Did you know that the lack of maintenance ends their life? Automakers listed some routine carelessness that drivers practice and directly affect tire health.

6 common habits that may be ending your car tire life

1. Always drive at high speed

It doesn’t matter if on the climb, descent, in straight curves or roads, the high speed generates overheating of the tires and this accelerates the wear of the structure. Thus, drivers who like to practice this habit drastically reduce the durability of the components, and wear out their tread because of the large number of sudden brakes.

2. Do not do the alignment in the correct period

Vehicle alignment is serious and this besides protecting life also impacts the health of tires. The indication of the automakers is to align every 10,000 km and forget this detail impacts the alignment and wear of the tires. Thus, it helps in conservation and if the wheel is out of the axle, the tire will wear the band on the floor and tear on the sides of the item. This ends up diminishing the useful life.

3. Inadequate tire calibration

Calibration is serious and needs to be done regularly, there is no conversation. The health of vehicle tires depends on this maintenance.

Thus, inadequate calibration or lack of it can contribute to wear and harm in braking distance. The automakers advise that calibration should be done every 15 days or weekly for those who use the vehicle many times.

4. Leave the tires without the caps in the security valves

There are many drivers who do not care about the cap to the safety valve, the famous tire filling. However, the lack of it allows dirt to accumulate and makes the tire lose internal pressure.

It can also dry out the safety valve if the vehicle is exposed for a long time and the tire does not have the caps.

5. Overweight in the car

No matter whether with people or luggage, an overcrowded car impairs the structure of and reduces the car’s braking capacity. Factories always recommend respecting the load limit as this directly affects the performance and operation of the system.

6. Do not make tire rotation

Factory manuals recommend tire rotation every 10,000 km of tread, but often drivers ignore this preventive maintenance, which eventually shortens the life of these components. Thus, the rotation of the tires levels the wear of these items, as the driving axis needs a greater effort compared to the free wheels.
