How does blueberries differ?

Both trees are deciduous shrubs growing 1 to 2 meters. Their fruits are blue, sweet and rich in beneficial substances. Kamchatka and Canadian blueberries are frost -resistant, which is also advantageous in our conditions.

Kamchatka blueberry, also known as Kamchatký honeysuckle, is unpretentious on the soil and grows well even in common conditions with neutral pH. It prefers the penumbra but also tolerates the sun. For good harvest it is necessary to plant at least two shrubs because it is foreign. Shrubs are also suitable for hedge. The first cut is recommended in the fifth year, when it is particularly suitable to illuminate and shape the shrub.

Canadian blueberry, or grinding grinding, requires acidic soil with a pH of 4.5 to 5.5, so it is necessary to plant the seedlings in the peat improved soil. More acidic pH will also support the use of fertilizers designed for blueberries and cranberries. Even though the Canadian blueberry can withstand a semi -shaped, it needs a lot of sun for good maturation. It may suffer from drought and therefore it is better to grow it in water containers. This type of rejuvenation is recommended between the third and fifth years, as well as the removal of old and damaged shoots. Although the Canadian blueberry is self -dirty, it is best to plant two shrubs for higher crops due to cross pollination.
