Vitor Gabriel Sales Rodrigues, 16, was killed in a confrontation with the Military Police on Saturday night (10), on the banks of the Acre River, in Rua Beira Rio, in the Cidade Nova neighborhood, in the second district of Rio Branco. His partner, identified as Andrio, was also injured in the exchange of fire.

According to police information, Vitor Gabriel had already complied with socio -educational measure at Pousada do Minor de Rio Branco. On the night of the crime, he and Andrio dye their hair red and crossed the Acre River with the aid of a canoe. On the other hand, they went to the residence of André Luiz Souza da Silva, 20, located in Beco Brasiléia, in the Base neighborhood. André would be a member of the Comando Vermelho faction and has an open arrest warrant. The pair, armed with pistols, fired several shots at him.
After the attack, Vitor Gabriel and Andrio fled back to the banks of the Acre River and crossed again to the side of the Cidade Nova neighborhood. A military police garrison, which was in the second district, headed by the river and spotted the two trying to climb the ravine. At this point, Vitor Gabriel and Andrio would have shot the police, who had given a prison voice. In response to the aggression, the military retaliated, and Vitor Gabriel was shot and died at the scene. Already Andrio was reportedly injured and fallen into the Acre River, then disappearing.
The two pistols would also have fallen into the river.
The police triggered the Mobile Emergency Care Service (Samu), which sent an advanced support ambulance. However, upon arriving at the scene, the team found the death of Vitor Gabriel.
The area was isolated by the PM, and the criminal expertise was called, along with the team of the Forensic Medical Institute (IML). After the expert procedures, Vitor Gabriel’s body was taken to the IML for cadaverous examinations.
The case is initially being investigated by the Civil Police Employment Team (EPE) agents and will be referred to the Homicide and Personnel Protection Police Station (DHPP) for the continuity of investigations.
On the morning of Sunday (11), the 2nd Battalion Military Fire Department should dive in the confrontation area to try to locate Andrio’s body and the two firearms, which would have sunk into the Acre River.
