Men arrived on Saturday to a port on the Galapagos Islands
Five fishermen who spent 55 days into the sea were rescued by a tuna fishing boat, the Ecuadorian navy said in the X cited by the Associated Press.
The three Peruvians and two Colombians had been missing since mid -March and were found on May 7 by an Ecuadorian boat named Aldo, having been transported on Saturday to a port in the Galapagos islands.

The fishermen reported damage to the boat alternator two days after leaving Pucusana Bay to the south of Lima, the capital of Peru. Speaking to AP, Ecuadorian Navy Captain Maria Fares also revealed that the failure caused the communication and navigation tools to malfunction and that fishermen had no energy on the boat.
“They had no starter, lights and everything a battery generates,” he explained, adding that to survive, the fishermen had to “get rusty water from the engine (E) when a fish passed, caught it and cooked it to eat.
According to the same source, fishermen drank rain and sea water to survive.
Men are in stable conditions and the Navy is coordinating with local and foreign authorities to ensure their return to their countries.
