Singer was arrested for damaging lawn in Piracicaba with luxury car; will respond in freedom with judicial restrictions
Singer MC Ryan SP, one of the main names of funk in Brazil, was released on Saturday afternoon (10.MAI.2025) after paying bail of $ 1 million. He had been arrested at dawn for damaging the lawn of Barão da Serra Negra Municipal Stadium in Piracicaba (SP) when performing maneuvers with a luxury car. The site is currently used by the base categories of Piracicaba 15 and is awaiting the beginning of the Paulista Cup, scheduled for June.
A (São Paulo Public Security Secretariat) confirmed the release. According to the (Court of Justice of the State of São Paulo), the funkeiro will respond to the process in freedom, but must comply with the following precautionary measures:
- Monthly attendance to court to inform their activities;
- prohibition to change address without judicial authorization;
- prohibition to be absent from the city for more than eight days without notice;
- prohibition of attending bars, prostitution houses, points of sale or places of drug and alcohol consumption;
- Impediment to making any public comment on the process, including social networks, applications or press vehicles.
In videos published on social networks, MC Ryan SP minimized the episode. He said there was space on the spot and “he offered no risk to anyone.” He also stated that it was the contractor of the show who called the police and that he tried to negotiate to avoid the complaint.
According to him, the contractors offered $ 1 million so as not to file a complaint. Then the request would have decreased to $ 70,000. The musician reported having made the organizers a pix with part of the amount, $ 20,000, due to the time that did not allow higher transfers than that.
What the organizers say
The, responsible for the show, said that the singer did not comply with the agreement signed to reimburse the damage caused to the lawn. According to the company, after the maneuvers, representatives went to the dressing room to negotiate directly with the artist.
The payment of R $ 70 thousand was established as a security. Mc Ryan transferred R $ 20,000 via Pix and presented proof of a TED with the remaining value. However, the producer says that the bank operation was not completed and that the information was immediately passed on to the singer’s team.
SSP-SP said Ryan tried to leave the site without resolving the situation, which led the organizers to trigger the Municipal Guard. The PM (Military Police) was then called and led the singer to the 1st Police District of Piracicaba.
The case was registered as damage to public heritage, direction without qualification and exposure of life or health of third parties to danger.
What the City Hall and the Club say
The Piracicaba Secretariat of Sports and Leisure will officially notify Sport Clube XV de Novembro, responsible for the assignment of the stadium, on Monday (12.MAI). The agency will also accompany the progress of the case with the support of the Attorney General’s Office.
The club reiterated that the event was private and that responsibilities are being cleared.
