According to the magistrate, the suspect is not being formally investigated by the Rio de Janeiro Court for participation in the attack
It revoked the pre -trial detention of a man suspected of involvement in an alleged bomb attack plan during the singer’s show, held last Saturday (3) at Copacabana beach, no. The decision was taken by the duty judge Jaime Freitas da Silva, who complied with a defense request. According to the magistrate, the suspect is not being formally investigated by the Rio de Janeiro Court for participation in the attack.
His name came up in investigations because his IP address appeared among those used by the alleged mentor of the plan. However, a report from the Intelligence Center of the Public Prosecution Service of Rio Grande do Sul (MP-RS) points out the possibility that IP has been cloned. “At the moment, he is not being investigated as one of those involved in the attempt to attack. His name arose only because of the IPs used by the alleged mentor,” the judge said in the decision.
The Rio de Janeiro Civil Police and the Ministry of Justice reported on Sunday (4) that they had frustrated an attack on the bomb at the event. At the time, a teenager were seized and the alleged leader of the group responsible for the threat. The man arrested in Rio Grande do Sul was charged in the act for illegal possession of a firearm. According to the judge, the penalty provided for the crime ranges from 1 to 3 years in prison, which allows the replacement of pre -trial detention for alternative measures, especially since the accused has no criminal record.
Even though the expert confirms that one of the weapons was scraped numbered – which raises the penalty for up to 6 years – the release decision was upheld. According to the judge, the suspect may be entitled to a non -criminal agreement or conditional suspension of the proceedings.
