Italian Carlo Ancelotti is the new coach of the Brazilian team. The announcement was made by CBF (Brazilian Football Confederation) on its official website on the morning of Monday (12).
The confirmation occurs the day after the defeat of Real Madrid, directed by Ancelotti, to Barcelona 4-3, for the Spanish Championship. The Brazilian team had been without coach since the departure of Dorival Júnior, on March 28.
He is not the first foreigner to command the selection. Before him, they were at the head of the team Ramón Platero (Uruguay, 1925), Joreca (Portugal, 1944) and Filpo Núñez (Argentina, 1965).
To have the current Real Madrid coach at the end of the qualifiers and, above all, in the 2026 World Cup dispute, the entity agreed to offer a salary of $ 60 million annually – R $ 5 million per month, very close to what he currently earns at the Spanish club -, almost double what he received Tite, Brazilian commander in the 2022 and 2018 Worlds.
